How long is the AHA BLS Class?

Times vary based on the number of students participating in the class. This range is from 3-4 hours with an average BLS Class time of 3.5 hours. Our focus is on ensuring you truly understand the material, not just rushing through content.

What is covered in a BLS Class?

BLS covers high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants; using an AED; relieving choking; and working as part of a team. You'll learn both single-rescuer and team-based skills with extensive hands-on practice time.

How much does an AHA BLS Class Cost?

Please refer to our Course Schedule for our most current pricing. We offer all Military a 15% discount off any of our AHA Certification Classes or Skills Sessions as well as 15% off for all return students.

When will I receive my BLS Provider Card?

All American Heart Association Provider Cards are issued the same day of the class. You'll leave certified and ready to present your credentials to your employer immediately!

How long is my BLS Certification Valid?

Like all American Heart Association Certifications, BLS is valid for 2 years from the date of issue. We recommend scheduling your renewal class about a month before expiration to ensure continuous certification.

Is BLS the same as CPR?

BLS (Basic Life Support) is a more comprehensive certification designed specifically for healthcare providers. It includes CPR but also covers additional skills like team dynamics, bag-mask ventilation, and managing respiratory emergencies at a professional level.

Do I need BLS as a Medical Student?

Yes! American Heart Association CPR Certification (BLS) is required for all Medical Students and Healthcare Providers. It's the only certification accepted whether you're starting college as a Medical Student or remaining compliant as a Healthcare Provider.

What's the difference between Initial and Renewal?

Initial BLS is for first-time certifications or those who have let their certification lapse for more than 30 days. Renewal (Update) classes are for those with current, valid BLS cards looking to extend their certification for another 2 years.
